Raptor Filament Drive Gear for MBE Extruder

This is the custom extruded and machined spur gear we use to drive the filament for our extruder.  The 20 teeth of the spur gear have a groove machined into them to help align the filament during extrusion.  The positive displacement of the gear allows the filament to resist slipping and allows extremely fast retractions.  It is CNC machined from a brass alloy.  There is a 4-40 set screw used to secure it to a 5mm shaft (most NEMA 17 steppers use this size shaft). A perfect upgrade for the Makerbot MK7 and MK8 extruders or for your own custom extruder design!
